YTOC Diary Of Events
Sunday 26th June 2007
The meet began at Barmby Moor just East Of York at 10:30 am, Gav, Dave, Wendy and John parked up and took the first picture before the run started in earnest.
We then set off travelling North past Bishop Wilton and onto the A roads before dropping back down towards Huggate, we then went back up the country roads towards Wetwang and then cut across the roads to Sledmere. We travelled along various roads which were fantastic for seven type vehicles on a run without having to brake speed limits. Gav and John were equally excited by the 90 degree bend we took at top speed limit without sliding off the road.
We then drove round the edge of Driffield before heading back up country using country roads to make our way towards Flamborough Head and a rest break. The second of the photo's shows the cars in front of the lighthouse.
We then moved onto the North Beach at Bridlington for some lunch at a local cafe.It was from here Gavhad to leave the run as he was wanted urgently at Work(no rest for some people even in the time they are not supposed to be at work).
We then travelled down through Bridlington but unfortunately it was so busy there was no parking available to so we carried on through and down the A164 in the direction of the M62. John cut across country from here. Wendy and I travelled on down the A164 and had a nice run home.
It was a great day out and enjoyed by us all.

Meeting Report
The meet started as planned with everyone arriving between 10 and 11am at the Asda car park at Monks cross.
Ade in his Avon
Mark in his six with his son
John in his Cat
Andy in his six
Me in my six with Wendy
We had a good chin wag and all got to know each other then filled up with petrol for the run before setting off.
First stop was the side of the Asda car park when I realised my sunglasses that I had left on the scuttle, were there no more, when I ran back and picked them up I found them on the petrol forecourt flat and damaged. 2 pairs that I have done this way (durr) then the heavens opened and everyone thought "OH DEAR HERE WE GO " We carried on and passed Castle Howard in the rain with everyone getting a bit of a soaking.
Then the glorious sunshine came out and dried us all again
We travelled up various roads on the route Ade had planned and had a good blat around the countryside without losing anyone.
The second problem that I caused arose about 20 miles from Whitby when I found there was a rattling noise coming from the underside of the car.
We stopped at the side of the road on the Moors and eventually we found the remote gear link for the gear stick had worked loose.
This was an ideal time to take a picture of the cars together in a really nice spot before moving on.( every cloud has a silver lining)
We travelled up to Whitby and onto Robins Hoods Bay where we all stopped went into the local fish shop and had the nicest tasting Fish and chips we have had in ages. Took a picture of the view over the bay.
We got back to the cars and everyone helped in getting the gear stick problem solved with a little bit of initiative and the borrowing a bolt from somewhere else on my car.
Once this was sorted we set off again and the pictures taken with the other Tigers in front were from when I went to the back of the queue and got Wendy my wife to take a picture while on the move.
We stopped off at Pickering with John nearly losing his rear end due to a unplanned stop at a car park directly on exit of a roundabout. Everyone got together for a picture with their cars before we went our separate ways at the next major roundabout.
We all had a fantastic day and hope that we can plan another meet in the near future which we hope can include those who had to work today and were unable to come.
So in essence a good time was had by all.
